Deals with installments remaining

0 results

Cars, property and more that still have installments owed to a bank or finance company. The seller states the remaining balance, plus the monthly payment and the lender when they add them. The deal is usually done one of two ways: the balance is paid to the lender, who releases the lien before ownership is transferred, or the lender agrees in writing to move the financing to the buyer after its own checks.

Tip: Never pay installments on something that stays in the seller's name without the lender's approval. Before any payment, ask for a balance or clearance letter from the lender, or its written approval of the transfer.
